the oath

I can't explain it, it just got to me like a sharp razorblade, slicing everything on his way. Tossing me into the shadows, the felling was not pleasant at all. It just seemed impossible to find a light, not even a small one to hold on to. Everything around me got so cold, so cold that it felt like my lungs would freeze every time I took a breath.

When my eyes got used to the absence of light, all i could perceive was a grey world, a sad and lifeless background full of shadows. They moved slowly, swirling, dancing & creeping towards me. Surrounding me, following my every move, leaving no possible exit, no way to escape.

Pointlessly, I tried to scream, it was like my voice refused to come out. I opened my mouth but only a mute gesture appeared, seemed like the cold froze my voice inside my throat. My ears were hurt by the silence, there was not even a sound,. I could feel how the blood, drop by drop, ran down from them. It felt like they were about to explode, ripping my whole head apart.

Tears started falling from my eyes, they felt warm, until a cold breeze touched them, they fell frozen & shattered as they crashed against the floor.

The air got unbearable, colder and colder by the minute, getting damper, making impossible to breathe normally. i started to feel weak & all sort of thoughts passed running through my mind. I could see how my soul left, leaving nothing more than an empty carcass. But when my heart & soul were about to be separated, something happened.

A small ray of warm light hit my face; I opened my eyes & got blinded. There was a face, the most beautiful face I had ever laid my eyes on. That Face and angel's face, started to rip the darkness around me. The Shadows cursed and screamed, as they ran away to take cover and hide from the light.

Her hand gently pressed my chest, & with an invisible force blended my soul & my heart into one. Still blinded, I reached and crawled towards her; with my last effort I embraced her. Trying to soak on her warmth.

When I came back to my senses I gasped, as i took a glance at her. She was looking down on me, as she played with my hair between her fingers. With no need for words, our eyes said what was needed to say. An oath, a secret oath to the world, two lovers bounded by a promise.

Silently, we walked into the twilight holding hands. To seal our faith we kissed our last breath away, melting our bodies into one. Sinking into an endless pool of tears & blood to never be apart again.
